Join as for an an informal exchange over lunch with Sophia Pickles, author of a new study on value addition in the context of metal processing (published the same week). The European Commission proposes that the Union invest in strategic projects inside and outside of the Union that build its capacity to access processed minerals in an attempt to minimise supply-chain risks for critical metals and minerals. The new study that will be presented looks at examples for metal processing and economic value addition of 6 critical raw materials and the implications that result from them for the affected countries and communities.
